Hello, first post here so be kind please.
Ive recently upgraded my CPU, RAM and GPU mainly to play gta V. The build when smoothly and everything booted up fine, first thing I did was re-set the motherboard using the jumper to clear all overclocks and settings for a complete fresh start. In windows I first ran Display driver uninstaller then installed the latest drivers for the 390 (Crimson Edition 15.12), After that I went through making sure all my drivers for everything else like bios, Lan and audio ect ect was up to date.
Stright into Gta V after all that to see how it preformed to my surprise, not very well... I hadn't even bumped the graphics up from the stranded pre-set graphics and noticed lag and micro stuttering. I then went back and double checked everything was right, drivers ect ect, and ran the Gta bench mark to find out watch fps i was getting 25-45fps, At this point I noticed coil whine coming from the computer, so I stick my head in and its coming from the PSU. I Jumped into BF4 then to see how that performed and to my supprise again, very well actually 70-80fps on ultra setting, then I tried Minecraft and saw that the FPS was fluctuating from 60fps all the way to 400+fps were-as before on my HD6850 I'd get about 120fps stable.
At this point I start trawling through forums seeing what other peoples issue's are, I saw many suggestions / fixes that didnt fix the problem. All the while I'm putting my money on it being the PSU not having enough Wattage. CPU Idle temperatures is around 30C, under load max'es out 65C. GPU Idle temperatures around 35C, and under load max'es out at 70C. Another thing to note is while running gta benchmark, sometimes a louder than normal coil whine can be heard coming from the PSU, at that exact point the benchmark will stutter.
I think that's about all the information off the top of my head, If you need any extra information ask away and ill be more than happy to do so. Thanks for the help.
