This has been an ongoing issue over the last 2 years or so, and has persisted through 2 OS updates (see title). Whenever I put the computer to sleep, be it by the case button or though the OS itself, the computer will always turn itself back on. Most of the time quite quickly, within 2 minutes or so, but sometimes a few hours later. This is a link to an imgur album starting with a screenshot of the window's event log overview displaying events from the sleep initialization through the awakening, and each event's details in chronological order: http://imgur.com/a/kfTJm . I would like to note that the hard drive controller error has not shown up on any other log for this issue, every other event though, has.

History and research toward potential causes:

Obviously the culprit seems to be my USB 3.0 controller based on the log, powercfg lastwake also confirms this. In addition to this though, other forum posts have led me to believe that this may be an ongoing issue with the asus maximus VI series of motherboards ( although most of those posts were solved with a bios update, something that did not work for me).

What I have tried:

Updating every driver.
Uninstalling and resintalling every driver
updating bios multiple times (now at 1603)
disabling intel speedstep
disabling/enabling hybrid sleep
unplugging all usb 3.0 devices
disabling wake on lan
disabling ability to wake with usb devices

I'm really at a loss at this point. I have no idea what to try.

Any suggestions? Thanks a bunch!

Thank you for the suggestion, unfortunately this did not fix the problem. It woke up with the exact same cause.

Yes, there were four options that I saw, off, s4 only, s5 only, and both s4 and s5. I chose both s4 and s5, but did not try them individually. Would having that disabled result in the causal event in the log being the USB 3.0 controller?

None in usb 3.0. My wireless mouse charging cable, wireless mouse signal receiver, and keyboard in 2.0
