So, I recently bought a new pre-built PC, and a GPU along with it. Unfortunately, when buying the PC it didn't list anything about the PSU, and it turns out that it's the bare minimum of 240w, correspondingly not able to power the GPU. I tried looking for a new PSU, but am very confused as to what to look for (not the best with PC building). The one that I have now has three separate cords, a 4 pin, and two 6 pins (One is one row, and the other is two, little pictures to help: One row ...... Two row ::: ). I'm sorry if these have proper names, but I don't know them. Anyways, if someone could help me find a PSU with all of these cords that runs around 550+ Watts, that would be awesome! If you're confused tell me, and other than that thanks for the help!

The motherboard is also a proprietary small form factor so the PSU and motherboard are designed to work with each other and are not a standard form factor. Another problem with trying to add a gpu is the 16x slot is only a 25w slot and most cards will not work in a 25w slot. A standard 16x pci-e slot can...

My computer's model: 15VFHPDT0020
As for the GPU: GeForce 9600 GT, just something for a little boost, needs 400W minimum.
Budget: As low as possible. I just need a PSU that will be able to handle the GPU and all other components, and you know, not die after a week. If we could stay at or below $60 that'd be great.

I've read that you can mount a PSU outside of your case as long as you take a few safety precautions first, and as far as it being a proprietary PSU, couldn't I still remove it and replace it as long as the new one is propriety too, or does it not work like that? Thanks for all the help btw. :)

Another problem with trying to add a gpu is the 16x slot is only a 25w slot and most cards will not work in a 25w slot. A standard 16x pci-e slot can deliver upto 75w. Unfortunately you are kinda SOL for upgrading.
