Hey guys.

Today I installed and kinda looked around on MSI afterburner. I by misstake put the fan speed locked on 20%. After playing some Grand theft auto 5 I come back to afterburner to realize that my graphics card had went up to 95 degrees. It usually stays at around 70-75 degrees.
Now my question is very simple, could the card have had any bad damage by this temperature, and I would also like to know at what temperature the card thermal throttles. I am a bit worried about the card because 95 degrees is a lot for any graphics card, I'd just like to know if it really is how dangerous as I think it is and how much it can actually affect the card itself.

Thank you

Solution
The gpu would first throttle down its speed to try and cool down and then if it gets too hot it will shut down to prevent damage. So you should be ok.
Its not recommended by any means.
I recommend keeping cards under 80C, under 90C is technically safe.
However, if the system did not crash nor artifact the card should still be without damage.

Set your fan speeds back to proper levels (or auto) and run a stress test, see if there are any speed drops or artifacts.

Thanks for your response.
Currently I'm unable to run tests but I will come back tomorrow with some updates.
