My old hard drive just refuses to get working again, It's getting detected and it's saying it's healthy in Intel Rapid Storage Technology, but when ever i try to open disk management with the HDD plugged in, it just freezes and glitches out. But if I don't have the HDD plugged in, it operates perfectly fine..

Could this mean a virus on the hard drive?

Hey there, David!

I'd strongly recommend you to re-seat the connections to the HDD and even try using a different SATA cable and SATA port on the MOBO. If the freezes still appear afterwards, you should definitely test the drive using its manufacturer's brand-specific diagnostic tool. Running the utility will help you determine the health and SMART status of the drive. You should be able to find such a tool on their official website.
If you have access to another computer, I'd also try plugging it there to see how it will get recognized.

Keep me posted. Hope this helps you.
