Hi, guys!

I have a problem with the hard drive, I've bought a couple years ago. It's a WD Elements SE Portable 500 GB .And it's not recognized on my newly bought laptop (Asus Zenbook, Windows 10) As I can see it's a commonly spread issue, and a lot of people are getting crazy with it, I still couldn't find the solution that worked for me.
As you can see on the screenshot
, it doesn't show up in the Disk Management panel. The drive itself is working, I can both see the light and hear the spinning.

Any suggestion on how this can be fixed?

Hi there Pelman,

The drive is working on another system right?
If this is the case, then I guess you are facing a driver related issue.
Is the drive recognized by Device Manager?
One thing you can do is to go to your laptop's manufacturer website and update all the drivers(especially the USB ones). In case the issue persists, I guess it will not hurt to contact their Support as well.

Let me know how this goes,
