Memory leak possible solution

So my computer has a memory leak. My computer will over time add usage to my ram and get to about 90% and will then stop. If I restart my computer it goes to normal levels and will very gradually go up.

So I did some research and found that if I change a value in my registry editor in the ndu folder then my ram will become stable. My question is: Is changing a value in your editor dangerous? Has anyone known of this memory leak fix?

I'm using 8gb of ram and windows 8.1. I checked applications and nothing is taking up my ram.

Any time you change values in your registry, you run the risk of hosing it and having to fix it. How I handle changing the registry is by using CCleaner and doing a registry clean and it will ask you if you want to back up your registry. Use it to back up the registry, then afterwards make your changes. This way you have an escape route for when things go south.
As far as making changes to the registry to stabilize the RAM, I've never heard of that fix before, but a single person can't know everything about computers and my expertise has branched off to programming, not IT.

hi biggerbluer, if you change the ndu system probably you will encountered error in your drivers because this is part of the windows registry. If you upgraded your OS you need only to update your windows simply go to update.microsoft.com, simply check your RAM also and clean it.

I get my driver updates from my motherboard website (gigabyte) Should I go to killer networking's website for the driver?

Edit: nevermind I went to killer's site and I watched a video on how to delete the killer manager and install the driver only. Thank you for your help

Get them from your mobo website - the mobo makers often customize the driver to the components in your mobo. You can try the base driver - but if you do have the mobo makers version ready for install as a safety measure..

I think I have the right driver now. My last question is: My non-paged pool memory is about 1.2 GB. Should I be worried? I mean my memory is now running about 40% so it's honestly not a huge deal.

Basically the non-paged pool hold the on-going data for the kernel, processes, file pointers, I/Os and threads that are running, so it will typically take up some space, yes. The actual paged pool is composed of the ever changing data that may or may not be written to the page file on your hard drive
