I've made a selection on parts for my PC, and I would like any advice that you guys may have for me. The build is here: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/G49WNG
I'm looking for a red and white theme, hence some of the choices. I'm rather solid on the case and video card choices, but might possibly be swayed. Preferably, I would like to reduce some costs (such as the storage drives, but an ssd is a must), and any feedback on components and peripherals would be hugely appreciated. Sorry for any errors in format as this is my first post. Thanks in advance,

The specs look great for gaming but you don't need the CPU cooler at all. The one included with the CPU will handle it at stock settings and it can't be overclocked anyway.

If the PC is for gaming, 8GB RAM is plenty as well. You can always add more later if you need it.

You only need like 400W+ for the PSU, heres a 520W Seasonic which will be similar or better quality. Still plenty of power and saves you some cash:

Great quality SSD but expensive as well, Crucial and Samsung drives tend to be very good quality too and are much cheaper.

That motherboard is a bit pricey as well, are there any particular features you chose it for?

Just the PSU, RAM and SSD changes would save you $100+

I would advised against. the 970. get an r9 390. It has better memory buffer, and cheaper and pulls ahead on some games specially on 1440p.
On the ssd, i'll get a mushkin 512 which is only like 5-10 dollars more expensive than your choice.
i wouldnt go against the PSU because its actually a good deal right now.
