Programs on my computer won't open unless i run them in compatibility mode. Is there anyway to fix this?

My computer won't open any programs unless i run them in compatibility mode. I've had this problem for awhile now and it just happened out of no where.

Also my computer wont let me open up some programs unless i run them as administrator.

Are these programs you've had backed up to your hd for years and now installed on your present windows, try updating to the latest version of your favorite apps certified to run on present windows.
