Hi my computer lately 3-5 times in last year the screen goes fuzzy and I cannot do anything. But later on if I come back sometimes it will let me work like normal I just bring up a new screen then lower it and fuzzy lines go away. but the lines remain where the new screen wasn't if you get what I mean. I am wondering if this is my monitor which is not young going out the video card going out or the hard drive sometimes failing and then starting up again after a bit that is causing this ? Will try and add a photot to show. It is so random and does not happen enough for me to hook up to another monitor to really test that. But would like to try and figure it out befores the whole thing goes down so I can order a replacement part. you can see what I mean by looking at that guys computer VVVVVV. there needs to be a better way to post pictures on here.
Thanks for any help

Like they say in the forum post you linked, this is not a hardware problem. I don't know what causes it. I don't get it on my desktop but do occasionally see it in icons in Windows Explorer - the top 2/3 or so of the icon is fuzzy as you call it and it persists in the icon after rebooting.

At any rate, it's not a hardware problem because the rest of the icons in that folder display correctly. If you have a screen saver or image displayed as the background that might be the cause on the desktop. If so, changing the desktop background might cure it.

the guy above is incorrect I just want you to look at the picture if the information was correct I would not need to post on here. It covers my entire screen of 6 icons only. THEN I CANNOT DO ANYTHING FOR A TIME. but if left on long enough it will allow me to do things and I move a window all over the screen to remove it. The picture is what it looks like the rest of that site is irrelevant sorry for not being clear.
