USB hub keeps reconnecting & disconnecting

I've had 2 different USB hubs.
One is an AC powered USB 3.0 hub.
The other one is only getting power from USB, it's 2.0.

The exact same thing happens to them - the devices reconnect or disconnect every hour or so.

This doesn't happen if I connect the mouse or keyboard directly to the USB ports, instead of through the USB hub. But thing is I need the USB hub because the computer is far away from the monitor/where I stay.
I used to connect the USB hub to a USB M-F extension cord and assumed that was the reason this kept happening. But the problem hasn't gone away when I got a new AC powered USB hub that's directly connected to the USB port through it's 5M(16ft) USB cord.

I've inactivated the power saving features on Power Management, but it solved nothing.

It's driving me insane, because I've spent more money than I had imagined trying to solve this.
I've used two different motherboards and two different PSUs, so I don't think it's one of the components' fault.

I use Windows 10 Pro.

One of our teachers once said, while studying architecture,
why are you creating a problem and then solving it?
So in essence you shouldn't be using a HUB if your ports are functioning and are capable of powering your devices without hassle. I'd suggest that you relocate your machine and connect off the native USB ports on your machine and see if the issue is persistent just to rule out that the USB ports themselves aren't the issue.

Windows 10 generally is a good OS to operate on but when it goes into a mood swing it tends to go belly up if it isn't maintained in a proper manner. One of which is the OS sometimes going corrupt over time, having mandatory windows updates break the OS's files and generally the system while most often it can knock the entire system senseless.

But the problem hasn't gone away when I got a new AC powered USB hub that's directly connected to the USB port through it's 5M(16ft) USB cord.
USB hubs with cord lengths of 5M are best used as power delivery hubs for portable devices like smartphones since any data transferred at that length will introduce latency and possible errors in signal carrying.

Could you please pass on your full systems specs? Are your sure your BIOS and your device drivers are all up to date?

Hi! Thanks for your reply.

I use a HUB like I said because the monitor/keyboard/mouse are a few meters from the computer(I don't want this, but I have to due to lack of space in the room). My options are 1 USB extension cable and a HUB, or an USB extension cable for every device. I've ended up with 4 USB extension cables and 3 HUBs, because most of them reconnected/disconnected.

The only one I've got to never reconnect or disconnect is an USB 2.0 extension cable I bought for €12, so I guess I've found the solution(I'll have to buy more of these extension cables). I hope there is a solution that involves one of the HUBs though, because there are quite a lot of devices I need close to me/the monitor. If I connect the HUB to the computer through this super-awsome extension cable then it will still reconnect however.

I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the USB ports because they've worked just fine when I've had the computer close enough to not need extension cables. I still have a few devices(External HDD, memory stick) connected to it without extensions/HUB between and they work just fine.

I've replaced almost all components(not because of this), but the problem persisted:
Mobo: ASUS Z97-P & MSI Z97 PC Mate
CPU: Intel i5 4690k
PSU: Cooler Master G750 750W & Fractal Design Newton R3 600W
GPU: AMD Sapphire 390 & nVidia Gigabyte 970
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz (replaced faulty ones with new ones of same kind)

I've reinstalled(clean install) Windows 10 many times.
