Hi guys, I've recently bought an ASUS MAXIMUS VII GENE motherboard and wanted to add a wireless card to it. A friend of mine was nice enough to lend me a TP-LINK TL-WN881ND wireless card, however I'd like to take advantage of the mPCIe slot at top of the motherboard. I've looked around for ASUS's mPCIe combo card but cannot find it for sale in the UK anywhere, so would like some alternative suggestions please as those 2 empty holes on the IO shield are annoying me. If the card also supported Bluetooth that would also be a nice addition. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion, and I'll keep it in mind. However it seems like I would have to solder the antennas onto the card? Would you be able to recommend me what mPCIe card to get?

Nope, there are tiny little snaps on those cables that snap right to the mPCIe WiFi card. It is a little tedious to get the snaps in there, but no soldering is required.

Thanks for the reply, Do you know if this card would work? I'd just remove the bracket so it would slide into the IO shield.

I have that board for my HTPC, but am not sure if the spacing is right for that or not. You could try calling Asus customer service and giving them the model number and they might be able to tell you. It does look close.

I used the antenna that I linked above, and then this:

(In that pic you can see the snaps clearly by the 1 & 2 numbers at the top)
