i5-4460 to i7-4790k

Trying to replace a i5-4460 with a i7-4790k but the i7 doesn't fit correctly in the socket. The bottom left corner isn't setting flush. Is it possible to use a very fine emery file to take a little off the edge of the cpu so it will fit? Both are made for the 1150 socket.

If they don't fit, you are not putting it in correctly.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should you make any type of modifications to a CPU. If you can honestly rule out user error, return the CPU for an exchange.

Or a possible bent pin in the socket not letting it sit down!
