I recently bought a Palit GTX 970 about 3 months ago and I have had no problems so far up until now. Recently (upon getting into Just Cause 3) I noticed a sound coming from the card. The sound is tough to describe but it's like a fast clicking/grinding like sound - almost like when you put your finger up against the blade of a spinning fan and you slow it down to a low pitch buzzing. It seems that this sound happens at about the 75 degree mark but now it has started making the sound at idle temperatures. I'm pretty sure that it's the fan as if I put my finger on the centre of the fan to stop it, the sound disappears. Any suggestions on how I might fix this?

Hello!

Sounds like a loose or unstable fan. If you have software to view fan usage see if it does it whenever the fan is spinning.

First thing I would try is re-seating the fan, it probably came a bit loose.

Hope this helps!

Reseating the fan has not helped. Using FurMark I can see that when the fan reaches a certain speed it starts making the noise. The sound pulsates if that makes sense, with about 2 pulses of louder sound every second. Stopping the fan is the only thing that makes a difference.

Here is the idle sound (didn't used to sound like this when it was first installed): https://clyp.it/y0dapofm
You can hear the buzzing of the fan behind the noise (sorry, my microphone is not very good).
