Hi guys, I have a P5G41T MLX3 PLUS motherboard. I wanted to know that will 1600mhz DDR3 ram work on my motherboard as per my motherboard mhz that is 1333 OC/1066? Thank you in advance. :)

Your motherboard supports: 2 x DIMM, Max. 8GB, DDR3 1066/800 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
Dual Channel Memory Architecture

You could get something like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004CRSM4I/?tag=pcp0f-21 (Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9)

While this is faster than your motherboard supports, it will just reduce to 1066MHz. You can get 1066MHz RAM but the 1600MHz is cheaper at the moment as far as I could see.

All depends on the DRAM - if an older model (like the original GSkill Ripjaws (not the X or Z lines) or their NT series of value DRAM then probably. If a newer line of DRAM (even 1333 sticks then no) most all lines of DDR3 these days and going back to about 2012 are made with high density memory chips that aren't compatible with G41 chipset)

Rabmac, I know that it will reduce to 1066mhz but will my pc boot up and work fine if I install a DDR3 1600mhz ram? Cause I am planning to purchase this Corsair CMV4GX3M1A1600C11 1600MHz 4GB DDR3. Thank you. :)

I have an EVM 1333MHZ DDR3 2gb ram which runs at 400mhz x2 = 800mhz on CPU-Z. So considering the 1600mhz one I guess the motherboard should automatically run at the preffered value. I asked the amazon seller about the working with the above mentioned ram he said it would work on my system. Quite perplexed on this one. :/

Hello,
Same problem here for P5G41T- LX. Vendor list is very poor and currently there are no RAM modules for my old mobo.
Does someone have tested Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB DDR3-1600 UDIMM on P5G41T? Does they really work as Crucial support claims?

TommTheGun.I just purchased the above mentioned 1600mhz ram and it was compatible with my motherboard. It ran at 1066mhz which is the highest as per my mobo.

Thanks Shernel22.
I bought form ebay Kingston n9/4G which is supported by my mobo. The problem here is high density chips vs low density chips. Old mobos do not support high density chips ( there are cases when they support, but very rare). New age RAMS uses architecture of 128MB chips meanwhile older RAMS works with up to 64MB chips.
