More than likely, there won't be any problems. You should, however, check that your motherboard is compatible to hold 24Gb. Most motherboards support up to 32Gb but some are still limited at 16 and without knowing what your board is, I can't tell you for certain

Mixing RAM is generally a bad idea. It's a crapshoot mixing RAM. My advice would be buy the new kit of 16GB and srap the old 8GB. 16GB is more than enough for most things these days. 24GB vs 16GB is not much of a difference and having more RAM does not mean better performance

i think my best bet is to just not add it, seems like there could be lots of problems....
i think if i do get more ram ill get just faster ram
