Plugged a fan LED cable into motherobard's "Chassis Intrusion" connector whilst powered on the BIOS > Motherboard is now dead?

The cable was from the bitfenix spectre pro 200m and my motherboard is a MSI Z68A-G43.
The power cut instantly and i have been unable to restart it since.
I've tried taking out all but CPU, 1 dimm of RAM; clearing CMOS; reseating the battery with no luck. The power supply is tested and works.

It was a stupid error and a costly mistake (RIP 1155) - you guys got any ideas?

there is no response from the system, pressing the power button on the case or shorting the motherboard's power sw pins has no effect (i should mention i tested the power supply with those connector things and it powered on my fans: my fans are connected to a controller connected to the psu)

Hm still nothing - i've kind of accepted the boards dead. What are the chances of all the components dying? -.-
