I have an NZXT S340 and have installed everything. Computer boots when I short motherboard power. Prior to shorting, the case power led shines, but nothing is on. Is there any way to fix this aside from RMAing the case?

Solution

You are right, there is no reset switch.

If the power led shines, without the power on, I suspect you have mixed up the leads for the combo power switch and the power led.
Double check which pins are connected. It can get very confusing orienting the pins on the motherboard header.

On the possibility that the leads are mislabeled, try connecting different pair combinations to the pwr sw.
The led is not a required function.
If you get a combo that works, connect the remaining two to the pwr led leads. If they do not light switch them.
The led leads do have polarity sensitivity.

Nothing permanently bad happens if the front panel leads are connected wrong.
The power switch has no polarity.
Make certain you have identified the proper two pins on the motherboard front paned header.
I assume touching these two is what you meant by shorting motherboard power.

Double check that you connected the proper leads.
Try using the reset switch pair which acts the same as the power pair.

The likely cause is some sort of a problem with the switch to the front panel.
If you can't find the problem, a call to nzxt will probably result in a replacement switch and wire.
