Hello guys, I am not an expert in making PCs, so when i discovered this site has folks helping with that, I was happy!!

So my situation right now is that I have a AMD r9 390 right now, and already have a 750 power supply. Can you guys give me suggestions as to what kind of a CPU/motherboard/other parts would be good , and I can only spend around 700 on them.

Any help is good!! I'm going to be using the PC for gaming/streaming/video editing.

Solution

I would recommend the Gigabyte UD3H (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz97xud3h) instead of the SLi board because it has better OCing abilities and more USB ports.

As for storage, a standard 1TB Seagate Barracuda...
i5 6600k, something like a $130 z170 board like a gigabyte z170 ud3 or msi z170 sli, 16gb DDR4 gskill ripjaws v its $70 atm, prob $100 for a case, samsung 850 evo 250gb ssd, 1tb wd blue or seagate barrucuda, and something like a cryorig H7, total of slightly over $700 at $740ish - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NzQqTW

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/jKvWNG - would work better for editing/rendering/streaming, since it is a quad core with 8 threads, all thats different from first one is cpu, board, and ram

Should i list my current computer specs as well, to give an idea of what I already have, so you can tell me if any of it is any good, compared to what you have mentioned?

- AMD 6-Core FX-6200 3.8GHz Processor
- 10GB PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM
- 1.5TB Serial ATA hard drive (7200 rpm)
- Multiformat DVD±RW/CD-RW drive with double-layer support, Built-in 2.4GHz high-speed wireless LAN

^ those are the things I'm able to get for my current computer. Please also let me know if there is anything I should keep from those above things.

Okay the build i listed above. Will boost WAY A LOT. in multi tasking.

1st. The CPU is the best one (If I7) and it support hyperthreading(Try google it, so you will know why i say its way better)
2nd. The RAM is DDR4,
3rd. It used SSD (Which is way faster in loading, specially rendering)
4th. I get another HDD (To save database only, so mainly for your design and main game, should be put on SSD, for faster load).

Also I will be using a 32inch LCD (requires HDMI), and also need a dvd driver, and about 4 USB ports (on the motherboard). And a Wifi module (idk if these come with motherboards or anything. ). And also, is that motherboard a good one for gaming?

And is windows 10 part of this, or do i buy it separate?

HDMI - Checked, graphic card is one of the new one
DVD Driver - Only cost 10 bucks - https://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-optical-drive-drw24f1st
USB Ports - Checked - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5485#sp -

Chipset:
8 x USB 3.0/2.0 ports (4 ports on the back panel, 4 ports available through the internal USB headers)
6 x USB 2.0/1.1 ports (2 ports on the back panel, 4 ports available through the internal USB headers)

Good For gaming - Yes, Z170 is overclockable motherboard (Any brand like, ASUS / MSI / Gigabyte, Would be okay, as long as the Series is "Z170", and make sure they have 4 slots of RAM)
Wifi onboard - No, if you want a mobo with wifi onboard, it will cost way too expensive. only for motherboard minimal is 250$

OS - No, you need an OS? I need to remake the build if yes. Since it gonna cost 100 bucks. and i don't think you can get the i7.

I5 should be the best choice then, 660$ + 100$ (OS) gonna cost 760$

@saphire, Thanks for confirming about those things! But can you take a look at this build? Reducing the cost of the processor by 100 or so, enabled me to focus a bit on other parts.

Please let me know what you think of the build, and please reccomend a good hard drive for storage, as i only have the SSD

And the OS isn't part of the budget, I was just seeing if it was part of the build or not xD.

As for storage, a standard 1TB Seagate Barracuda (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003) or WD Caviar Blue (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd10ezex) is enough for the mainstream user. If 1TB is not enough, then get 2TB.

There doesn't seem to be WD 2tb harddrive. any other suggestions? Looking at the reviews WD is better than Seagate.

Actually, there is a WD Caviar Blue 2TB (http://pcpartpicker.com/part/western-digital-internal-hard-drive-wd20ezrz)
However, I would not suggesting purchasing it because it is much more expensive than its Seagate counterpart.
Some might argue that WD is better than Seagate and some would argue vice versa but the truth is that you should get which ever one is cheaper because they are both just as reliable and just as fast.
