Final decisions about my new build

Hey guys,

I am building a new PC finally. this is what I was thinking about:

CPU: i7 5820K
CPU cooling: Corsair Hydro H110i GTX
Mobo: Asus X99-A
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4 2400Mhz
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon R9 390 8GB
PSU: Seasonic 750W 80+ Gold X-750
Case: CoolerMaster CaseMaster 5 Pro

The first question I have is does any one have experience with this case? It looks pretty nice on reviews and YouTube videos but I would still love to hear someone talking from personal experience.

The second question is about the H110I GTX, can it be beaten (performance-wise) by a Noctua D15? would a CoolerMaster Nepton 280L be preferable over the H110?

The last thing I have to ask is for someone to review if there is any bottleneck or such in this build because I was picking the parts myself and I'm not sure how good I am in those selections.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
This reports shows that NH-D15 is in favour, both in performance, noise and price.

As others mentioned - each overclock is unique, because each chip is unique. Some cpu-models tend to overclock better than others though.
This particular cpu woud likely overclock around 4.0 Ghz - 4.5 Ghz. which isn´t amazing from the stock turbo of 3.6 Ghz.
Anyways it will mainly depend on:

1) Cpu quality
2) motherboard / psu quality
3) OC settings
4) temperatures (cooling effeciency)

Can't see any bottlenecks. Do you have hard drives already? If not definitely get yourself an ssd and a storage drive if needed.

With regards to the cooler. The corsair will be super cool but possibly a bit noisy. A big air cooler would be almost as cool and less noisy, and would be a big weight hanging off your motherboard. Really it's a trade off so go with whichever factor is most important to you.

I have good experience with CM cabinets. The MasterCase Series especially is overall good build quality, good airflow, lots of space for drives and psu compartment is good. I like the design as well, and the paintjob looks really nice (not like some cheaper models that screams discount). The bad thing it´s a bit on the pricier end.

Noctua-d15 has better performance, easier installation and lower price. H100i is also pretty noisy. Noctua is quite big though. Unless you´re going for more than standard overclock.

For standard overclocking (no worldbreaking records)

Noctua NH-D14/15 = Best performance, big size / brown colour, very silent
CM Hyper Evo 212 = Best price/performance, very silent
Cryorig H7 : another aircooling winner.

For extreme overclock - you´ll want High-end Water Coolers - and h100i isn´t one.

Yeah I do have some WD HDDs and one 850 Pro from the last build. Is the H110 cooler than the Noctua? Thanks.

Alright so going with the Noctua cooler will be preferable? and how fast this processor could go with that cooler?

Thanks for the CM opinion, makes me more confident about the buy.

The GTX is slightly cooler yeah, not much difference though according to benchmarks. It is much noisier though :)

As to how fast - welcome to the chip lottery haha! every chip overclocks differently but you should be able to get a nice increase with either cooler.

Alright, will the Noctua fit comfortablely inside this case? will it block any PCIE or RAM slots on this motherboard?
The EK predator 240 you suggested is not avaliable in local stores sadly. the best liquid coolers avaliable are: H110i GTX, Nepton 280L, and Kuhler H2O 1250, I can possibly get a fractal design cooler but it costs more and I'm not sure if it's worth it, what do you think? any of them will be significantly better than the Noctua in terms of performance?

And do you have any suggestion for this build? I am looking for opinions.

Thanks for helping

Vic - you are still quoting the h100i but OP asked about the h110i GTX.

In any case, I would go for the noctua as you have a good board to hang it on, unless you specifically want water cooling.

doesn´t really matter, http://www.overclock.net/t/1519715/mini-review-noctua-nh-d15-vs-corsair-h110

Bottomline is that air cooling is just better than CLC - that comes with risk of leaks, punctures tubes, evaporation etc.

So unless you´re into extreme overclocking, air cooling is what you want.
