I dont know if I picked the correct category to post.

Anways Im looking for a mechanical keyboard. Preferably from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai or Delhi. Online retails do have them but usually Razer stuff. I want Red cherry MX switches. Even Kailh ones will do. But Red switches and if possible with fully programable macros. Now I want it from a local store and not online guys. Also as it is due to taxes a $90 keyboard ends up as $160. So would really appreciate any directions to a retailer who might negotiate at least a slight bit.

Haha it's probably a set of rubber domes marketed as cherries

Actually, I may have to take that back. I found this: http://www.zftvs.com/

Apparently TVS has tied up with ZF Electronics (also known as Cherry Corporation) to manufacture some of their other switches (like automotive and industrial ones). No mention of MX keyswitches, and as far as I know they are all made in Cherry's Germany plant but seeing this it's totally possible that they have expanded manufacturing to India. TVS could have some special deal with Cherry to get MX switches for very cheap. Then again, there's no telling if they are fake of not without actually seeing the switch itself (And even then it could be an exceptionally good reproduction).

EDIT:...

There's little chance that anyone here will know local Indian retailers. What I can recommend is amazon.in. Includes all taxes in the price given, ships fast and delivery to your doorstep.

The Corsair STRAFE and K70 keyboards are highly regarded. No macros though. Keep in mind that a mechanical keyboard is going to run you at least 10K (More since you specifically want MX Reds).

STRAFE: http://www.amazon.in/Corsair-Vengeance-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B00CD1FC6G/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1452533643&sr=1-5&keywords=mechanical+keyboard

K70: http://www.amazon.in/Corsair-Vengeance-Mechanical-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B00CD1FC6G/ref=sr_1_5?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1452533643&sr=1-5&keywords=mechanical+keyboard

If you want macros, you'll have to get the G710+ with MX browns: http://www.amazon.in/Logitech-Mechanical-Keyboard-Tactile-High-Speed/dp/B009C98NPY/ref=pd_sim_sbs_147_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=419R21iCC0L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR146%2C160_&refRID=1DT17TEAECY7V8PY3ARJ

I got my ASUS Strix Pro with MX Blacks for (LKR) Rs. 17,000 (INR Rs. 7,900). Good keyboard if you can find it; it's got 21 fully programmable macro keys and N-key rollover as well.

There seems to be many people who like this keyboard; it seems to be very good for the price. I can tell you though that it doesn't use genuine Cherry MX key switches, as there is no way you can get a full set of genuine keys for the price the keyboard sells for.

Well if it does not use genuine cherry switches then does it use fake China switches? or are they like KAILH ones? something like that?

I figure you could use AutoHotKey to get over the Razer, corsair, etc macro software. It will take setup effort, but should be worth it in the end.

Thanks for your suggestions. I could wait a few weeks and buy those keyboards. But it kills me to overpay for it. I mean in the end, I will still get a 6.5-7k keyboard for 9-12k or more. That just sucks alot. On top of that the local stores dont really stock anything other than the TVS keyboard and Razer keyboards. The Razer mechs are also an anomaly. So I have to bear being the odd customer who came in looking for an odd keyboard according to the retailer. Online is the only option...but dang its over priced. I have not much problem spending 10k on a keyboard, but the keyboard should also be a 10k worthy product with 10k features not a 6.5k board.

USA is the cheapest option I know, but dont have anybody coming down from there like until the next couple years.

Kailh makes the switches razer uses in their mech keyboards, I've tried a few of them out in one of the local stores and I can say they're pretty decent.

Most likely fake reproductions. Even KAILH is too expensive to be used.

Genuine Cherry MX keyswitches cost $1.73 online. Of course manufacturers get them for less, so assuming they get them for $0.5 you're still looking at $72 for a 144 key keyboard. That's Rs. 4806 for the keyswitches alone. The TVS Mechanical Gold retails for Rs. 2250 online. Definite not genuine.

EDIT: Well looks like they do produce MX switches as well: http://www.zftvs.com/MX_series.asp

Looks more and more as if the keys are genuine. If this keyboard does have genuine keys, it would be an absolute steal for Rs. 2250 (~$33)!

Might be worth a shot, though it seems the keys could be genuine but it may have slightly cheaper materials though.

I recently bought TVSE Gold USB keyboard from Nehru Place for INR 1890. It seems to have original Cherry MX Blue switches. Nice for typing but not for gamers. Only 2KRO over USB is not sufficient to play any game. WASD keys are exception but all other keys are 2KRO.

It'd be worth buying these boards in bulk to salvage the keys alone, and transplant them to a new case and/or install a custom controller in the current one.

Topic closed, but still. There was a flash sale on Amazon.in and I got the Redrragon Kumara K552 for little over 3,000 INR. It is not as cheap as US price but still beats the domestic MRP of 5k.

It has been awesome to use. My 1st ever mech keyboard. Build quality is good. It works fine. Only thing is really miss the numpad at times. Once I got use to the keyboard a rubber dome keyboard felt like it was missing alot of the physical feedback you get from executing keystrokes. The lighting is also great, no problems there. I bet it should be fine for a minimum 2 years of use. Heavy use. I mostly play with controller, so that should ad to the keyboards life.
