980ti bottleneck with i5 4670

I currently have an intel i5 4670 and a radeon r9 390 gpu. I am thinking about upgrading my gpu to a 980 or a 980ti but will I be gaining any real performance with my current cpu?

Obviously you will get some performance but in some games that rely mostly on your CPU you will be limited. If you have a 1080p monitor you should just keep your 390 and get an i5 (4690k or 6600k if you can), and upgrade your GPU later.
