Recently, I sold my lightly used motherboard to a buyer through ebay. A few days later, I shipped the item out and began waiting for payment. About two weeks later, yes two weeks, I asked the buyer to pay through an invoice on Ebay. (At this point the box has been delivered according to the tracking number). Only to have him tell us that he had not received the invoice. I replied saying ok and that would re-send the invoice. Upon resending the invoice, the buyer than says that he had never received the item. At this point I decided to call Fed Ex and UPS. Upon calling UPS, I learned that the item had been not only delivered to the destination but had been handed to a man in the house. When I told the buyer that this had happened he said that he had actually found the item and that he would pay us, however he never did. We allowed him a day to complete the payment so we did not come off as rude. The next day he contacted us again saying that he had found a different motherboard and that he would continue refusing payment. What can I do to fix the problem that I have caused by not waiting for payment before shipping?

Contact Ebay. This is a matter for their buyer (or in this case seller) protection.
You have delivery confirmation, not only digitally, but also from the handler as well. If the buyer is refusing to pay ebay should handle the matter of your payment.
Why would the buyer wait until you ask for payment to tell you they had not received the motherboard, and why wait to tell you they chose a different item.

Keep us posted here.

Sounds like the buyer is trying to rip you off, especially changing his story from not delivered to oh I got the board, then oh not the right one. Would contact ebay, as well maybe paypal and take the matter up with them.

The more I think about it, what it really sounds like is the buyer got buyer's remorse, didn't want your board after he found another one he liked better and is wanting to rip you off to buy the other board. That's not your issue though, so like I said, I'd contact paypal and ebay on it.

Because ebay can not force a buyer to pay, we will not be receiving the $200 that were supposed to be profited from this sale. We were told that the only thing that we can do is to leave a comment on the buyers page. I'm kind of disappointed but thanks for the help.
