3.5" bay USB Hub not receiving enough power?

I have a Sedna 5-port USB 3.0 hub mounted in a 3.5" bay on the front of my PC. It connects directly to the motherboard via a 19-pin cable and also has a power cable to plug into the PSU (600W). It seems to be getting power and Windows recognized it when I installed it and when I plug things into it. However, it won't charge a wireless headset and my wireless mouse and keyboard stop working when they get more than three feet away from their receivers. I have not had problems with any of the other USB ports.

I've reinstalled the 3.0 drivers for the motherboard and Sedna claims no additional drivers are needed for the hub since its plug-and-play. I feel like for some reason the hub is not receiving the same amount of power as the other ports. I'd appreciate any feedback or comments.

PC Specs:
ASRock 970 Extreme4
AMD Phenom II X4
12gb RAM
MSI GTX 660

Could you please pass on your PSU's make and model number? We know it's 600W but the unit may not be doing it's job though you already have some power hungry devices onboard as is. According to your products specifications page the USB 3.0 ports are based off the Asmedia ASM1042 controller on your motherboard.

On note is that peripherals unless stated by the manufacturer to run at USB3.0 speeds should all be connected to a USB 2.0 port. Wireless receivers sometimes can have interference with other wireless devices. SO you could rule out the dongle being faulty by trying out another pair from a friend possibly...?

Oh right, what OS are you on?
