Hi,i have a medion akoya pc8585 pc , intel core i5 3330 3.0ghz, 6gb ram ,h61h2-lm3 motherboard with pci-e 2.0 16 slot.im looking to add a graphics card..i tried a NVidia GeForce gtx 650ti pci-e 3.0 but it wouldn't start the screen so I tried it in a friends pc and it worked fine he told me it wasn't commpatable with my motherboard, can you please recommend a card similar to the gtx 650 that will work in my pc I'm trying to run a game called euro fishing I am running windows 10,it has a 500w pcu..thanks

The 650 Ti is indeed compatible with your motherboard. In fact, any card that fits the PCIe x16 slot should be compatible. I suspect you have another problem. What make and model of "500W"PSU did they put in that PC? If it is a fake 500W with a weak +12V rail, that may explain why it didn't run the card.

Hi it is a win power atx 500. my mates pc has the same but a 400 and it worked in there ok. when I turn the pc on it starts the fan on the gpu and the light comes on but the monitor is still off

You better check you friend's PSU. If this is his PSU, it only has a single 18 amp +12V rail. http://www.saveonkit.com/ekmps/shops/saveonkit/images/win-power-atx-400-400w-power-supply-unit-psu-%5B2%5D-17033-p.jpg
No way that can run that card. I'm shocked the card would even turn on with that PSU.
If This is yours, it is marginally better, but still under-powered for that card: http://microdream.co.uk/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/500x500/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/i/m/img_1631_2.jpg

No, your motherboard is not incompatible. The PCIe interface is a backward compatible interface. I have several PCIe version 3.0 cards running in older M/Bs than yours.

But that would be a good test to try his (albeit worse) PSU that yours. It also would be nice if you would verify for me the nameplates on both of your PSUs with the screenshots in the links I provided above.

Hi again I tried the graphics card in my mates pc and it worked fine, his pcu is a win power atx-450 not a 400 and my pcu is a win power atx as-p500.i then put his pcu in my pc and it still wouldn't start my monitor.. the fan and light came on the graphics card after about 20 seconds,i tried plugging the monitor back into the onboard graphics connection on the motherboard and that wouldn't work either until I unplugged the power lead from the graphics card
