How much power do these graphics cards use

Hello everybody!

I am buying a new msi gtx 960 along with a second monitor.

I already have a Radeon R9 270X and I am wondering if I can use one of these to power one monitor, and the other to power the other one?

What I really need to know however is how much power this will take as right now I have a 500W EVGA power supply and don't really want to buy a new one on top of everything else.

I'm totally new to running more than one GPU and so if you have any reason that I am an idiot for even thinking this might be a good idea, please let me know!

Thanks in advance!

a 270x can power more than one by itself, not necessary to buy another card for that reason

unless you mean to game on two screens?

if that is the case depends...

if that is the case depends on the resolution of the monitors, and the particular game you want to play

adding a 960 to a 270x is pointless

you would be better off with a single stronger card like a gtx 970 ( keep current power supply )

or two 270x's ( you need to buy a better power supply to power them )

It's impossible to have AMD and NIDIVIA gpus running together. Either SLI (2 NDIVIA cards) or Crossfire (2 AMD cards).
If you're gonna run SLI or Crossfire you would need more than 500W. I think at least a decent >800W unit.
