Hi all,
I have a Dell Inspiron 620 MT which I use mainly ( 90%) for CAD and graphics work.
Current specs are :
8 Gig ram
i3 processor
Dell factory supplied PCI graphics card , PSU, etc.
I'm interested in a graphics card upgrade and found the GTX 550 or 750 Ti are an easy swap over but , I'm wondering if an AMD FirePro W4100 or Nvidia Quadro K620 would be a better option and , compatible with my PC ?
Or, should I just go with a GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB card as ( here's the silly part) it has twice the CUDA processing Cores of the Quadro K620 and GDDR5 memory over DDR3 plus, it's quite a bit cheaper.
AMD FirePro W4100 >>LINK <<
Nvidia Quadro K620 >>LINK<<
GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB >>LINK<<
I don't want to spend a fortune on upgrades but the current graphics card is on the way out .
I do have a 450w PSU sitting here that can be utilized if needed.
This PC is pretty well maxed out for CAD use except for the CPU but, I cant justify the cost of upgrading the CPU when I'm limited to a max 8 Gig of RAM and, this PC will be replaced when I can save for a custom " workstation " PC .
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Jay
