As the topic, will it fit? I'm using an NZXT Respire T40 and about to buy a Corsair Hydro H80i... Don't ask why. Anyway, how do I remove the backplate of the NZXT cooler? It locked in place, seems unremovable. Thanks in advanced
No take both side panels of your case off. You will see the back of your motherboard through a whole in the case. That will help you get your old cooler mount off without removing the motherboard.
90%+ alcohol and a coffee filter to wipe the paste off the CPU.
The H80i will come with thermal paste but I wouldn't use it. I would spend the $6 on a tube of Arctic MX-4.
To apply the paste there is a ton of guides on here on the proper way to do it.
As to getting the T40 backplate off just take off both sides of your case and the hardware more than likely is bolted on the backside of the motherboard.
so just turn the screw from the front of the motherboard off? and how do i clean off the thermal paste? does h80i come with thermal paste? i've never build a pc before, mine is old, bought from an owner
