i've seen a thread about my situation but it didn't give me the answer i needed. I see people running games on similar computers to mine (not meant for gaming) with similar specs and my pc runs no where near as good as theirs. i have an

i5 660 dual core 3.33ghz cpu
r5 200 series gpu
4gb 3.8 usable ddr3 ram

i should mention that my computer is a dell inspiron 580s. s for slim so i have to have a low profile video card. is it the video card holding my pc back because low profile gpus suck? whats the deal here. any input would be appreciated, also i already know my pc is not meant for gaming i don't need to play 2016 games on ultra or nothing i just wanna be able to have smooth 30 - 40 fps on normal and not always on lowest like i am now. thanks

When it comes to discrete graphic cards, the only R5 200 series card is the AMD R5-230. If all else hardware is the same, there are other issues that could be causing discrepancies in performance. What software is installed/running, actual Internet speeds, even driver versions.

That said, a GT730 would be an upgrade over your current AMD R5-230.

In theory, low profile cards should perform exactly the same as their full sized siblings. However, due to lesser cooling capabilities, they are often limited to reduce the amount of heat generated.

That said, unless you actually witnessed a similar computer performing so much better than yours, I'd take anything you see or hear online with a grain of salt. Sure, I could whip up a video that shows my Intel Pentium III 800MHz system with 768MB RAM and a Radeon 9200 AGP card running Windows 95 getting a steady 60FPS @1080p in Fallout 4. Just don't ask to see it in person as I had to break that system down for further testing.
