Okay, so i have a GTX 970 which i use both the DP and HDMI. Due to the boot order the wrong monitor always starts up first which i have gotten over. But now it has started loading on the wrong screen then when it reaches the point where it would normally switch it doesn't and the resolution goes to something like 1024 by 960 and cannot be changed via screen res menu. I then restart it and it goes back to normal but it is extremely inconvenient. if anyone has a solution o can offer some assistance it would be much appreciated.

P.s. using Windows 7 Pro

Just a few things for clarification:-

1) Which monitor is DP and which is HDMI?
2) What is the native resolution of each?

I assume the DP monitor is the one loading first? If that is a case simply swap the connections around if possible.

There are a lot of issues with nVidia GPU's and multiple monitors like this, unfortunately the NVCP will prioritize by adapter and it can't exactly be changed. So what you should do is use the adapter it is prioritizing for the primary monitor.

The issue with display resolution, at least to me, seems like one monitor is a different resolution than the other and it is not properly detecting so it is locking the resolution.
