I already have this cpu in stock frecuencies but with a shitty board. As I am in a trip on germany 8 am willing to buy a new motherboard and a gpu.
The mother would be an asus MA99fx 2.0, and the gpu a sapphire r9 380x nitro 4gb. However i also heard some people have had problem with this setup and i am looking forward to hear if anybody who is running this combo is doing good.

Is the fx 8320 a bottleneck for this
cpu or not?

Solution
Actually, the higher your resolution, the less the CPU will matter. So if you play at 1080p, your CPU will be more of a bottleneck than when you play at 4K. And with that motherboard you should be able to overclock more than fine. Look at my signature.

In any case, the 380X will work fine with your CPU. You will get some frame drops here and there though.

As for CPU intensive games; GTA V is the most notable one.

The short answer is, yes. The FX-8320 regardless of overclock will bottlekneck a 380 in CPU intensive games. This is simply due to the fact that developers no longer focus on optimization for AMD CPU's (the Intel fanboys won!).

An example of this, I tested my FX-8350 + r9 290x in Battlefront, then I swapped the GPU over to my i7-4790k (same RAM, same HDD, same everything else) and the FPS difference was around 20-25 increase for the i7.

In any case, you will still be able to play most games maxed out at 60+ fps (@ 1080p)

The motherboard is fine, but there are some better options in the same price range. Take a look at Gigabyte.

In my opinion the 990FXA R5 from Gigabyte is best for the price right now.

Be prepared because the following replies you'll get will be a series of people suggesting you to buy an Intel i5 processor. Only take the FX-8320 if you know the games you'll be playing support up to 8 cores/threads or you trust the feature will be full of games that support multithreaded games.

Thank everybody for the replies. Although i understand that intel is by far better when it comes to companies optimizing their games, i don't really think i have enough money to change also my chip. So, although the processor can be a bottleneck, I should be good when i only play in 1080p? Which framerate can I expect for this resolution in graphic intensive games with this combo? Should I get a less powerful gpu?
My psu is a sentey scp-850, 850w bronze plus. I know it's not the best one but in argentina where i live they afe cheaper. What are your thoughs on it?
Also, which kind of games are cpu intensive?

And ARMA series.

Battlefront definitely not. Batman, yes, but mainly the latest one for being a huge mess. Witcher, meh, not really. Crysis, sort of, depending on which one. Here's a reference;

So mantilli, as your system is really similar as the one I'm thinking about, which gpu would you get to pair with the cpu for 250€ for an enjoyable experience? Is the 380x too much?

Wouldn't the cpu be a bigger bottleneck for the 290 as for the 380x? Also in conclusion the cpu won't be a huge bottleneck for the 380x if i overclock it a bit, will it? All should be more or less fluid in 1080p with this combo?
I would like to know Which one of the 2 gygabyte motherboards mentioned is better and what are your thoughs about the psu i talked about..thanks for helping a noob like me

Sure the bottleneck will be slightly bigger, but your performance will still be greater, except for tessellation.

As for the motherboard, it will depend on your budget. They are both great boards and you won't go wrong with either one of them. They will also enable you to overclock your CPU easily. If you want an even cheaper but good option, you can go for the GA-970A-UD3

Thank you guys for all this input. I've been playing a game called Zwift. It's a cycling game that uses 1080P(high) and 1440P(ultra)
My work computer has a i5 (4690k w/MSI 7817) and a R7360 OC edition and getting 65-80fps on high setting.
I bought a R9 380x for my home computer(FX6300 w/GA-LM78-s2) to play at Ultra. Its getting horrible 30-37fps and 43-45fps on high. Meaning the R7 360 is out performing the R9 380x.
So I just ordered a new motherboard and i5 6600k hopefully it fixes the problem
