My dad just gave up his old Dell Studio 1555 for my daughter to use. She doesn't do a lot of gaming but does play Minecraft and something called Animal Jam online. We've been able to get Minecraft to work but can't get the Skindex to work. Animal Jam comes up with "error on page" even though we can run it on the other computers in the house, and since originally Minecraft complained about the graphics driver (until I updated that) I presume the graphics card (Intel GMA 4500MHD) is the problem as it's not highly rated. I don't have a huge budget - what are I don't want to spend the cost of a new laptop on a graphics card! Do you have any suggestions?

Check the Windows Device Manager, that laptop used an AMD graphics chip as an upgrade option, maybe it's not being recognised or drivers are not installed.
If no AMD option shows up you're basically stuck with the Intel adapter, upgrading to the AMD chip requires another motherboard... Such are the joys of compact tech.
