i have a dual monitor setup and i one of them is an Asus VG248QE monitor that ive been using for the last month without any problems, but today i turned on my computer and it says that there is no signal from the DisplayPort to my monitor, so i unplug it and plug it again a few times but nothing happened. Has this happened to anyone? Should i buy another display port cable? Any help would be appreciated.

humm...makes it a little difficult. Try to start windows without the drivers running to do this type: system configuration in start meny and run it. Then choose services and click on hide microsoft services and uncheck Nvidia drivers restart and see if you get signal then.

If so try switching so that monitor goes through the DP port to see if the problem still occurs. It can go two ways the problem persists and you need to check the graphic card. And maybe start windows without graphic card drivers. And see if it still occurs.

did you manage to fix it? I have that exact same monitor with the same issue and no way to check if it is the DP cable or the port on my monitor. I don't think it is the port on my GPU since I have another DP port on my motherboard and the same thing happens on both the GPU and the Motherboard. However I have a nvidia gtx 970 and starting without the drivers didn't work for me :( And since I have windows 10 and os 10.11.2 installed I'm unsure if it is a problem with the drivers or not

So Bendik try the steps i wrote above and if it works its a driver issue. I dont think you would get any picture connecting the DP to the motherboard if you are only have the nvidia drivers installed. Windows will detect the video card and make it default display device.
