I am building a new Media Center/SteamBox PC, and I'm debating between A8-7650 and G4400 CPUs.
My question is if AMD APU will be better than G4400?
A discrete GPU isn't a option for me because my PC case is Low-Profile, and I have only 300W PSU (Seasonic) so my dilemma is how to get more performance with minimum budget.
Thanks.

G4400 has better single core performance and is good paired with 750 Ti.

Only if you plan on playing games like Crysis 3 or Witcher 3 will you benefit ONLY a bit from the A8 just because it will remove SOME stutters. You will get more FPS with G4400. G4400 is also LGA1151 platform which means you will have a nice upgrade path to future gen i5 or i7.

Why A8 is better for streaming video than G4400? Can you be specific?
Thanks.

Streaming video is a very parrallel and CPU intensive task. While for everyday usage the Pentium will feel faster, it struggles at video streaming/transcoding because it only has two cores to spread across. The A8 has four weaker cores, but even though its individual cores aren't as good as the Pentium, it has four of them, allowing it to be superior at video streaming.
