Is there a way to get audio from my pc to tv without HDMI?

I just finished my HTPC with spare parts and forgot my 470 has no hdmi only a mini display port. I'm willing to get a dvi to hdmi adapter but I don't want one of those mini display ports to hdmi adapters because I have heard nothing but bad things about them. I want to know if there is a cable I can get so I can hook up sound from my PC to my TV's speakers. I don't want to hook up a set of speakers to my tv since I don't have any decent ones.

If you use the audio out at the back of the mb I think you would need a pre-amp , but you can try it easily enough . The TV should have an audio in jack .

if not then swap out the graphics card you have for a low power card like a Radeon 6450 which will have HDMI . My guess is they cost around $50
