FPS is the frames per second the software is processing, whilst hz is the rate the monitor hardware is refreshing the display. You can barely see a difference over 50 FPS anyways.

There's a huge difference between 50 and 60, and an even bigger difference between 60 and 144 (at 144hz)
OP, as jerdle said, your PC can give out 80 fps for example but only 60 of them will be displayed by your screen.
