Replacing Side Panel With Mesh/Screen for Better Air Flow

Hi,

the way my case is set up there is an eddy of air beneath my GPU that is causing it to operate about 15-20 degrees warmer than the rest of the computer.

In an attempt to rectify this, i removed my front bottom intake fan to create a more negative pressure environment. This worked well at eliminating the GPU eddy, but at the cost of increased temperatures on my Mobo and CPU.

The whole reason for this is improper ventilation from my side panel. The air holes designed for the PCIe 16 slow are a little to high for where my GPUs fans are, so it has nowhere to pull air from.

(i know this is all a little tough to visualize without seeing my case, sorry for lack of pictures).

my question : is there any high quality, fine screening / wire mesh material that any of you have had success with for case modifications?

I would like to replace the entire side panel with a mesh material, but I am not sure if this type of case mod with be at the expense of the case's structural integrity.

futhermore, i dont need something to be a happy place for dust...

ive gotta fractal design 92mm exhaust and a ENERMAX 80mm intake. I know i have better airflow and temps with it off...just looking for the right mesh/screen material to make this a permanent fix. i dont just want an exposed box
