Speaker and microphone issues with Realtek HD Audio

My build has a Z170A Gaming M5 mobo which uses Realtek HD Audio drivers. I had used my monitor speakers and headphones with no problems, and had used my headset as both headphones and a microphone with no problems. Today I set up my Logitech Z523 speakers and everything collapsed. At first the speakers were recognized but had no output. After randomly clicking around and restarting the machine the speakers began to work. I never made any permanent changes to make this happen. Now my headset plays back audio but the microphone is no longer recognized. I unplugged the speakers because they seemed to be the cause, but now when I plug them back in they have no output again. My drivers are up to date. Are there known compatibility issues with Windows 10, Realtek HD, Beats headphones, or Logitech speakers?

That seems to have done the job. I guess it never dawned on me that the most up to date drivers were the ones I needed. Thanks!
