CPU: Intel Core i5 3450 @ 3.10GHz
Mobo: Asus P8H77-M LE

I recently upgraded to kingston hyperx 8gbx2 from my crucial 4gbx2. I've read that my ram has automatic overclocking to 1866mhz but it runs at 1600mhz on default. When i try to change the memory freq to 1866mhz on my BIOS, my pc wont start up. When the change was reverted, everything started normally again. Am I stuck with the 1600mhz speed ?

Sorry guys. Im in my learning stage. Pls be gentle..

There could be 2 problems,
1: your cpu doesnt support it out of the box but that should be ok if you change it in bios.
2: your memory gets to less voltage, check on the box what voltage it uses and put that in your bios!

And an upgrade from 1600 to 1866 doesn't make a diffrent for games, only video edditing goes like 1 second faster
