AMD Dual-Graphics Mode

Hi

I'd like to try if i can play modern games on "enjoyable" - medium or maybe high settings with dual graphics mode with just 4GB ram. I just don't know how many watts/brand i need for the psu. should i go with a Corsair CX 430M or Seasonic M12II 520?

here's the specs:
A8-7600
1x4GB Ram
R7 250
1TB HDD

Definitely go for the CX430M. I have the same PSU in my build with the following specs:
A10-7870K @ stock
2x8GB RAM
R7 250
3TB HDD + 120GB SSD

Never had a problem with it, it's rock solid and super cheap too.

nice. i'll definitely get the CX430M since our builds are similar.

do you play games with it? what games are you playing and have you tried using only 4GB of ram when playing games?

i don't think i can find a seasonic 430 in my country. so i might stick with corsair CX430M

Sure do, I've been playing a lot of Tomb Raider 2013 and it runs very well at 1080p on medium-high settings (basically started from the normal preset and turned up a few settings). Borderlands 1 works well but doesn't take advantage of Dual Graphics, so the APU does all the work. Borderlands 2 runs pretty poorly and I have to set the resolution to 720p to get playable framerates, again on the APU alone. There are other games I've tried, but those are the biggest ones I play ATM. I like to buy my games on sale so I don't have newer ones like GTAV or Fallout 4, but feel free to PM me if you have any other questions about how my rig performs. I haven't tried gaming with just 4GB. It's definitely possible, but you're going to want to terminate any unnecessary background applications and maybe even some Windows processes. I haven't played those games but i see that you're enjoying those with the apu dual graphics build and that's great. i hope they put GTA V on sale soon! :) I have no further questions as of now but I'll pm you as soon as possible once i tried testing out the build because i haven't bought it yet (still saving up).
