I am not sure about this problem, so I turn to those more learned in PC IQ! I recently used CCleaner to wipe my disc. After doing so, my PC displayed the following: 1720-SMART Hard Drive detects imminent failure. Failing Drive: SATAO. Failing Attribute: # 05 .I did a Chckdisc using windows Tools and this is what it displayed. I have an HP Pavilion 8 Gb Desktop. Less than four years old. So, My Internet Public WiFi is very slow. My Computer makes no noise. I check YouTube for problems about this subject and found no ready answers. When I start my PC, it displays the following: Processor Type: AMD A8-5500 AP_U with Radeon(tm) HP Graphics. Processor Speed: 3200 MHz. L1/L2 Cache Size 192Kb/4096Kb. Memory Size: 8192Mb DDR3/160MHz. Channel A: XMM1 0Mb/XXM2 4096Mb. Channel B: XMM3 0Mb/ XMM4 4096Mb. BIOS Revision/Date: V7.07 04/20/2012. 1720-SMART Hard Drive detects imminent failure. Failing Drive: SATAO. Failing Attribute: # 05. I am trying to be very direct and give as much info about mthis problem. Is my Hard Drive about to go out on me or could this be a false notification? I used Malwarebytes and it found no problems. I do use, at times, or used to...RealPlayer, which, when I tried to listen to a CD (The entire Bible on CD) my computer would make a noise and no play this CD. I could play the CD using Windows MediaPlayer or Quickplayer, so I am not sure whether the RealPlayer program was/is faulty. That is the only noise I have ever heard from my Computer. Could there be a problem with something other than my Hard Drive, Like a USB device I use for wireless keyboard, or, ??? I am disabled on DDS and am not so computer savvy. I hope someone can help me with this and I don't have to purchase another Hard Drive. I use Windows 7, Internet Explorer 11. I tried Windows 10 and went back to 7. Don't like Windows 10 at all. I have to now click on F1 to boot my computer I am wondering why a check on the hard drive doesn't record any errors or problems with it. according to the chkdsk tool or any other hard drive check I have done It makes no noise other than when I tried to use RealPlayer and don't even deal with it anymore. Thank You! Thanx!
