What is the best operations system for a mid-high gaming pc?

If you need to ask you aren't capable of using the small differences anyway. Like the other guy said, just get any win 10 so you have dx12 support.

Even better, buy a Win 7 key and upgrade...
So long as you can borrow (I don't recommend downloading dodgy internet copies) somebodies installation disk for Win 7 or 8 64-bit you can qbuy keys inexpensively from places like MMOGA etc. and get Win 10 that way.
If I bought something like this http://www.mmoga.com/Software/Windows/Windows-7-Home-Premium-32-64-Bit.html
would I be able to install it on a new computer I plan on booting up this weekend for the first time and would I be able to upgrade it to widows 10 once I can get the new build connected to the net?

That is a cheap round about way of getting Win10 Even Amazon sells copies of Win7 for around 50. Why not.
