Can anyone plz help....if I buy a gtx 980(probably from MSI) and an i7 4790k( also can anyone tell me if I should wait for a skylake CPU and what does skylake have over the previous architecture?).what performance at 1080p can I expect for games right now and in the future(2-3 years in the future)

You can expect more than 60fps at 1080p for at least the next 4-5 years. Skylake does perform better then haswell but only by a small margin and as such I would go ahead with what you have planned.
