I have been trying to overclock my 4790k for a while now. I've given up a few times, but this time around I am determined to figure it out.

I have been trying to follow this guide.

http://www.tweaktown.com/guides/6572/asus-z97-pro-intel-z97-motherboard-circuit-and-overclocking-guide/index4.html

But when I go into my BIOS, I see none of the options the poster has. I cannot enable XMP mode. (My HyperX 1866 ram doesn't support XMP) And I don't have the 1-4 core ratio limit. These options just flat out aren't in my bios.

I updated my bios to the latest version, and that didn't help either I can't find a guide to overclock without XMP. Any help boys?

Solution
You don't need XMP to overclock. XMP just sets the RAM to the timings it's supposed to be at automatically.

Just set the CPU core ratio and set the CPU voltage. Boom -- you're overclocked.
