I built a computer about 3 weeks ago, and I've noticed that some games are very slow. Some of these games ran faster on my HP Pavilion g6! I recently downloaded Fraps and tested my FPS on the games I have downloaded (mostly Steam).

My Specs: CPU- AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor
RAM- G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
GPU- Sapphire Radeon R9 270x 2GB
Motherboard- Asus M5A78L-M/USB3 Micro ATX AM3+
Storage- Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
Case- Corsair 200R Mid Tower
PSU- EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze Certified

FPS Test (Average):
AdVenture Capitalist- 84 Peak: 90
Counter Strike: Source- 14 Peak: 16
Don't Starve- 30 Peak: 30
Gang Beasts- 1 Peak: 2
Garry's Mod- 10 Peak: 16
Half Life 2- 12 Peak: 16
Minecraft- 54 Peak: 60
Mountain- 12 Peak: 16
One Way Heroics- 60 Peak: 60
Papers, Please- 60 Peak: 60
Poker Night at the Inventory- 10 Peak: 40 (Pause Screen)
The Ship Single Player- 80 Peak: 160
The Stanley Parable- 29 Peak: 30

I have updated my drivers (as far as I know), and I have Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit OS.

Stupid question. You are plugging the monitor cable into the graphics card and not into the Motherboard right? There is an iGPU on that Motherboard that is very weak. The only other thing I can suggest right now is check that you have Radeon Crimson 16.1, if not download that.

ehhhh, don't kill me, but I do have my monitor plugged into my Motherboard. But, the cable type for the monitor is different than the input on the GPU, I'm only able to plug the monitor into the Motherboard. I don't know the specific cable type, but all I know is it won't fit anywhere else. The monitor I have is a square one that I found lying around in my house, an Acer AL1914.
