I have been using this USB drive for years (possibly 8 or 9 years) and today it just stopped showing up in My Computer. I checked Disk Management and it DOES show up there. However, it says there is "No Media" under the drive. It also shows up as a Mass Storage Device under Devices and Printers. Could this flash drive be dead? Is there any way for me to access the files that are in my flash drive and save it somewhere else? There is a couple of months worth of work on there and I would be extremely happy if I am able to retrieve my work.

There are possibility you can do to recover your files or the USB flash drive. But to format it, we can't do it because you have important files, Actually your drive is hidden something in your windows, you can use *** by typing it in search bar above right side of your screen, once you type either 2 or 3 asterisk the file folder will show-up, you can now click and copy it somewhere in your windows or other drive. Now after you can copy your important files you can try now to format your USB, if it will not format, use the dispart to repair your usb, because the instruction is long try to follow here:http://boulos.ws/how-to-fix-usb-flash-drive-with-diskpart/
