So after building my PC in August, I ran all my games on high settings sometimes max. I would get like 400-500FPS on Minecraft. For the past week I've been experiencing a huge problem that I cant fix, I get only about 50-100FPS and a bunch of lag spikes in all of my games. I used to be able to play CoD: Black Ops 3 on high perfect 60+ FPS but now i lowered it down to low settings and can barely play on like 20-30FPS. I tried reinstalling the Nvidia drivers, cleaning it completely, watched videos about it but still no answer. I though it might be a CPU problem but don't know.

Specs:
GPU- Asus GeForce GTX 705ti
CPU- Intel Core i5 4590 @3.30Ghz
PSU- Thermaltake Core TR2 500w

Please help asap I really want to get back to Gaming. Thanks

in august mincraft had a update,... and skyrime had a update... and the drivers focused on skyrim which took away fps from MC cause SRim renders difrently and was more popular than MC so they wieghed it out and otmized for SRim. smh aholes ....

anyway the sametime MC had a up date which included shadowes and ALOT more textures,so it was sorts not good for any one.
even the high end people had problems with talking like 980 & and 970 peeps,
+java 51 update sucked too just extra info.
so now, i found a page to that will explan what to turn back off and the performance dramticly decreseses like the shadows for all 1000000 thousand grass blades is just sucks.

and you...
It sounds like your CPU might be thermal throttling. Play a game and open your Windows task manager (shift + ctrl + esc) -> then click "performance" tab. Is your CPU spiking at or near 100% during game play? If so, then download HWmonitor. Check the temperature of your CPU and report it back here. While you have the free application open, please also report the utilization and temperature of your graphics card too, during game play.

And this is during game play? Those numbers are fantastic. Those figures are while you're gaming and experiencing the low FPS? If so, then my theory is clearly wrong.

I would remove the video drivers with DDU (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/display-driver-uninstaller/)
Then I would reinstall the drivers only directly from Nvidia's site. Don't install GeForce Experience for now. Just the drivers and see if there is any change.

install MSI kombuster.
run it, it will tell you excatly what your cpu is doing and what your GPU is doing and if you can try to take a screen shoot as well with task manager open and GPU-z

MSI kombuster.

when you did a fresh reinstall of your drivers, did you disable vsync aging in the control panel in windows??
right click desktop,
-NVIDIA control panal
-3dsettings
on the very bottom you have to scroll cause you cant see it there is a Vsync option , make sure that is OFF,

no its good enough eveythind is runnig how how its suppost to with OC from hardware asus and all with boost clock thats why i think when yyou either instlled the game or udaedet the driver you forgot to turn vsync back off and now its at like 60 fps or half refesh rate.
when it is off sky is the limit :)

and you may also need to alot more RAM to mincraft cause standard only comes with 1gig but since more textures you need to aalote like 2 gigs of ram for it to run.

^^ more ram for textures!
+you need to go in to the bios of your board and and turn your intel grafic OFF, other wises MC will grabe the next best grafics it finds and INTEL 4000 in that case would be the closest and would then be redirecting it to you main GPU which is a BIG hassle for a PC to do. so go and TUEr you CPU gpy 4000 what grafics off in the bios as well and make sure v syce is off in the MC game as well. no just the controll panle.
and update your java. may help.
i dont even play MC but i just studied it in like 5 min and could write a book about it. it must be a pain to play lol.

as for COD for frame rate with updates may vary is normal and relatively decent for your system, i wouldn't worry about it too much. frames go up and down just turn like HDR off and LOW shadows. with light " terain" and you will be able to play fine shit gets in the way any way during competitive gameplay.
