Hi guys,

Can you help me with this. I am planning to get ups battery that can hold my setup for 10-15 in case power drops. After all the read i assume i should buy one of this models. I cant check full usage for my setup as i dont have it yet but it should be like this

Processor i7, 16GB Ram, single HDD drive(no ssd) integrated graphic card or some standard one
3-4 monitors 24'. All will be probably new from HP. Its Work related and office stuff. No graphics or games. Router will be Netgear n600

I wanted to go with APC as i heared its leader and best company on the market, but only Smart Models have clear sine. All this APC pro have sth similar to clear sine but not pure one and i heared that there are possible issues with active pfc adapters. And all new computers got it.

Cyberpower is stronger but actually a little bit more pricey where i can buy it from and its different company.

Can you help with that and share your views please

Thanks

700W is a bit overkill for that setup, generally you only want to have the primary monitor and the computer plugged in, so you can safely shut down. Unfortunately, most consumer supplies tie max wattage to battery size, so you might need the Cyberpower if it takes you 10min to go from full power to totally off.

I've had several UPSes from both companies, and both are reliable enough. If data loss is a huge issue though, you might want to call a representative to see what options they offer for your particular need.

When i'll work i will need that 10 min on PC+all monitors until i shut it down. I can use some energy saver options or just drop brightness quickly. But Thats work related. Its not just about quickly saving files and shutting down or hibernating computer. If only one monitor stays on, i would lose access to the things at the others unless all the stuff would immediately move into that working monitor, but think it wouldnt:)

That 10 min is a must actually for me, and i think that APC 540W could not be enough

If you intend to use the computer rather than shut it down like a normal user would, you need a more complicated system. If you live somewhere that you can legally use a generator that is the recommended way to go (in addition to UPS)

I think this systems should be enough from what i read to give me about 10-15 minutes, most of the shutdowns are just temporarily. Within this time period i would be able to close all the work, finish tasks and turn of computer. Other systems are too expensive for me now and will have to test this first i guess to see what i need

I am more interested in choosing between APC vs Cyberpower. I heared APC is better but they dont have clear sine wave and from what i read it can be issue with most of the new computers with active PFC adapters. Any comments about that?
