Hey guys,

Had my Sli setup for quite awhile now. I'm noticing slim to no difference from a single 970. Im only getting 40 fps avg on Witcher 3 (maxed), and 30 fps on GTA 5 (near max)- this is annoying as I've seen many benchmarks where these games are at least 60 fps, with occasional drops. Im running two monitors- one for gaming and one for web browsing or whatever, would this make a difference?

Thanks in advance.

at this stage it is sounding like it could be a driver issue, corruption or something. Use something like driver-sweeper in safe mode to remove all driver files and registry entries and try again with a clean install of the latest whql driver. People have also often had issues with some drivers, having to revert back to an older one that worked properly. Also make sure your OS, game, motherboard bios etc is all up to date. Also try re-seating the video cards in their slots a few times in case of bad connection, and the sli bridge connector.

Yeah SLI is on, first thing I checked. I think I solved the problem- reset all my global setting in Nvidia control panel, and switched to maximum performance, im getting 55-60 now. Still not super happy though. Is there any of these other setting I can change to increase those fps?

My specs are

i7 4790k (Oc'ed to 4.6 ghz)
2 x GTX 970s
MSI Z97 Mpower mobo
16gb Corsair Vengeance Pro @ 1866 mhz
250gb Samsung 850 Evo
2 tb Toshiba HD
Running this on a BenQ Rl series 27in monitor, and a 48 in TV. I game on either, depending on the game,

Checked that SLI is functioning properly. Run with it disabled, are the fps the same? Disable to other monitor for sli to work properly too. Another bit of advice would be stop trying to "max" out games. Sometimes one setting is very demanding but gives you an unnoticeable increase in image quality. Another step in troubleshooting would be to remove any overclock. So yeah, a few things to check.

Thanks for your responses guys. Yeah checked all that- sli is working, when I turned it off I only dropped a max of 10 fps at most. I feel like I should be getting a a lot more of a bump than this, given the benchmarks I have seen have the settings maxed.

So I fired up The Witcher 3 this morning, using Riva Statistics to monitor and I was getting a solid 70 fps, both cards were using 96ish per cent. Restarted the program, back to 55-60fps. One card was using 10 percent lower than the other one.
