I have an older 450 watt power supply from antec that was originally used to power an amd board. Is there a difference between power supplies for an amd vs intel board. The main power slot, that one with two rows of plug ins, is 4 short on the board im using.

Solution
AMD boards use the same PSU connectors as most Intel boards, See if the plugs match and if it does I don't see why it shouldnt work.

Most motherboards adhere to the ATX standard. In short. Most boards from Intel and AMD are the same other then server boards and some specialist equipment. If the board is a standard ATX board the power connectors are the same. The connectors are 20+4 pin main power (20 pin detacheable 4 pin section to be backward compatible with the older standard) and a 4+4 Pin connector (modern boards have an 8 pin 12V cpu connector older ones have only 4 pin, again this is done for backwards compatibility).

Basically you won't have any issues. For visual reference check this
